GMS Philippines — Remote Vehicle Kill-Switch Lending
Global Mobility Service Philippines markets vehicle financing to tricycle and motorcycle operators — borrowers who depend on the vehicle for their income. The loan product includes a remotely-controlled immobilisation device (MCCS) fitted to the vehicle.
The device itself is lawful. What the law constrains is how a lender may use it: a kill-switch may not be triggered while a vehicle is in motion, without prior written notice, during a contractual grace period, or to force settlement of an amount you dispute. Those limits apply to every lender using this technology. The guide sets out each rule with its citation and what to do if one was broken.
We publish the public record and the law. We do not characterise any company's conduct beyond what a cited source establishes. If a kill-switch was used against you outside those limits, your account is the evidence — and it is what turns a rule into a case.
Sources: court decisions, regulator issuances and corporate filings, each linked to its origin on the record page. Educational content, not legal advice.
